Christ & Holy Trinity Preschool is a non-profit preschool for children two and a half years through five years old. It is fully licensed by the State of Connecticut and accredited by the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of Young Children). C&HT Preschool is also a member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin and all denominations are welcome.

Facilities

Located in downtown Westport, Christ & Holy Trinity Preschool offers fully-equipped classrooms, a separate music/reading room and a large indoor playroom for inclement weather. A blacktop area for riding toys and a spacious playground is used for outdoor activities.

Our Program

There are approximately 75 children enrolled at Christ & Holy Trinity Preschool. Our staff is carefully selected and includes experienced, professional teachers with degrees in Early Childhood Education. We will offer your child a stimulating, nurturing and creative learning experience.

Our philosophy at Christ & Holy Trinity Preschool is to provide an early childhood program offering every child a developmentally appropriate curriculum within the framework of a Christian environment.

Learning Goals

At Christ & Holy Trinity Preschool, we want children to be successful and enthusiastic learners. We strive to teach them to think for themselves, to solve problems and get along with others. Our developmentally appropriate curriculum is child-directed and teacher-faciliated.
Talking to children, asking open-ended questions, and providing materials and activities that reflect and build on children's interests and experiences are ways of supporting a child's learning. Materials and equipment are organized in centers so they are accessible to the children. Centers include blocks, dramatic play,  manipulatives, science, sand/water, music, art and writing. Children are encouraged to use and manipulate materials at their own developmental level. The happiness and well-being of each chld is of the utmost importance to us.

Admissions

To ensure the quality of our program and to comply with safety and space regulations set by the State of Connecticut, enrollment in Christ & Holy Trinity Preschool is limited.

Admission Order

1. Children currently enrolled in the school.
2. Siblings of children currently or previously enrolled in the school.
3. Children of church members. (You are a Church member if you were baptized, confirmed or received here or if transferred by official letter from another parish of the Episcopal Church.)
4. All other children.

Application

Registration takes place during December of each year. To apply for your child, please contact the school director. Tours are available by appointment.

Age Requirement

1. Two-Year Old Program: Students must by two years six months by the first day of school.
2. Three, Four, Five-Year Old Programs: Students must be the appropriate age by December 31st of the year entering the program.
