The Last Supper: March 2 and March 9 in Discovery Kingdom Sunday School

Workshop details:

Art: Simple “stained glass” window decorations of the chalice and bread will be created to help children remember the Last Supper.
Movement: The traditions of communion will be explored through song, movement and hymnody.
Community: The children will create travel brochures that invite people to follow in Jesus’ footsteps during Holy Week.
Traditions: Communion traditions of Christ & Holy Trinity will be the focus of this workshop.
Cooking: This workshop will help the children make connections between the Seder meal and the Last Supper. It will also explore the references Jesus made about being the “bread of Life.”

Children and Parents: Get ready for the annual Stump the Clergy trivia celebration on May 18th.

Discuss Discovery Kingdom lessons at home to prepare to take on the clergy of our parish for our year-end celebration. This Jeopardy-style game is a fun way for children to show off their knowledge and to test the knowledge of our clergy. Our theme for this Sunday School year is Food and Drink for the Journey. Here is a sample question from our Fruit of the Spirit rotation. How many fruit of the Spirit are there and which one is listed first?

Statement of Mission

The mission of the Christ & Holy Trinity Children's Ministries is to nurture the child, minister to the child, and receive the ministry of the child. We welcome all children as full participants in the life of our parish.

Sunday Morning Education

Pre-K children will learn using age-appropriate Hands-On Bible Curriculum and will always meet in Seabury.The church provides professional baby-sitting for children younger than 4 years in the Nursery, which is located in the main church building. Children in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade will experience Sunday School through the Workshop Rotation Model (WoRM).

Schedule

Sunday morning education runs September through May during the Christian Education hour (10:15 to 11:00 a.m.). Please note that the start time is dependant upon the conclusion of the 9:15 A.M. worship.
